fuse blows when put into neutral

Hello, I bought a 84 733i today, automatic trans, an odd quirk am having is when the car is put into neutral it blows the fuse, which also controls the windows and not having a book something else I've not noticed I'm sure. I tried process of elimnation, started car and rolled windows up and down, fuse ok, put car in reverse, fuse ok, back into park fuse ok, then put into neutral and fuse blows. Any suggestions?? Since not having a book on it yet I'm thinking a neutral indicator switch on tranny?
I've not had time to get further than that with it , and plan on getting a book on the car in next couple days. Anyone expierence a simular problem? bob
