Hi there. I need some help trying to determine why my lights stay on.
After everything is shut off my headlights reain on. They are however dim and the bright indicator stays lit.

I have unplugged the dimmer switch to no avail. I now resort to pulling the fuse.

My question is: where is the auto sentinal relay or the daylight runner relay located on my 92 cherokee? there is also another 'box' atttached with velcro under my steering column. I have unplugged it from both ends and all systems continue to work. What is ths thing and what does it do?

1.The box w/the velcro is the timer for you intermittant wipers
2.If the high beam indicator stays on ALL the time, there is a possibility
that the bracket for the dimmer and the ignition switch may need to be moved.Moving the bracket up puts pressure on the dimmer switch, this will cause the high beam indicator to stay on....

Hi there,
had any answers to headlight problems yet, my 93 grand chrokee does the same thing, I've been pulling the fuse every time I stop and go from home to work.

I would say either your headlight control box or maybe your relay that operates the headlights might be stuck. Look into you haynes manuel, it might give you a location for the relay. Or look under your hood at the fuse box, find the relay, have a freind plug in the fuse, listen for the "click" from the relay, if no "click" and the lights come on, pull the relay and replace it, not sure but I think the relays are interchangable.

I know on my 93 Cherokee, if I leave the headlights on when I turn off the engine, there is a timer that keeps it on for 30 seconds. It also works if you have the engine turned off and hit your brights. Possibly something with the timer/relay? that controls this security feature.
