Okay I'm getting very crappy mileage out of 1991 explorer with a 93 engine. My fuel mixture is rich. This is what I done. I replaced the 'oxygen' sensor, and still crappy mileage. Yesterday I replaced the MAF sensor, will see how mileage turns out. Of course it might be a bit hard to judge because I"m in the winter season now in the cold cold prairies of Canada. Will update on the situation over a couple of days.

These parts you can replace by yourself, but the MAF Senor has a gasket, didn't have one on hand but managed to come upon a nice solid piece of cardboard that worked perfectly. Just had to conform it to the size of the MAF.

looks like fuel mileage is better already. I think i should have gotten a new MAF and not a used one.
