im changin my motors v6-v8 i know i gotta lengthen my driveshaft 2" cuz im going to a th350 tranny my question is can i use the v6 driveshaft?? will it hold to about 300 hp?? also is that b&m tranny changeover kit really neccasary???

you know for a fact that you have to lengthen the driveshaft or are you asking? it is my understanding there is no difference in length between the v-6 and v-8 driveshafts.

also, i will assume that the third gen v-6s didnt have a two-piece driveshaft. im sure a stock steel shaft could handle that much, you might want to look into a larger aluminum to help reduce vibrations...

yes he will have to lengthen the driveshaf, hes not just swapping engnines, hes swapping tranny, and putting in a TH350 which is shorter.

to answer the question, yes, you can take your stock driveshaft to the shop and have it lengthened, and it will easily hold 300hp.

Yes u will have to lengthen your driveshaft , I know because I had to do the same for my Turbo 400, and it will hold the hp if they weld it right. :smokin:

so my v6 driveshaft should handle v8 300hp motor?? lengthen or shortin?? i called a speed shop they told me i gotta lengthen it 2" for the th350....
