Hello,

I have 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Just purchased the vehicle about a month ago prior to winter. I need to buy new tires. I would like to buy something good for winter, the Canadian ones, but that I could use also year round (mostly highway). Would also like something that offers a nice off road look. I currently have on 235/75/15's. Should I stick with that size? I think the OE was a 215/75/15... If anybody has any recommendations on a nice looking, reliable and safe tire it would be very appreciated. Thank you.

My preference runs to the Michilin line. I just had a set of Cross Terains installed on my JGC and they work very well in the Alberta winter. My next choice would be the LTX-MS tire for more off road work but still good for highway too.

A lot of others will say that Michelins are expensive but they last and I have not had the troubles like some of the other brands have had.

EDIT

Here is a link the the michelin SUV tire page.

http://www.michelinman.ca/catalog/index_5.html

You can lookup the goodyear, hankook and brigestone sites as well. They all have canadian pages.

I'd agree with the Michelin recommendation. Had them on a Dodge Ram I owned, and got a lot of good miles out of them. Right now I have a new set of Cooper Discover tires on my '92 Cherokee. They seem good, but haven't had much winter down here (Chicago) yet. The Coopers are good in the rain though...grip real well.

I've had Michs on a number of my cars, including my '88XJ. I like them too.

By the way, I thought the seasons in Canada were:
Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, Construction. ;)

Thank you very much for the recommendation.

I looked up the Michelins Cross Terrain on TireRack.com and they have great reviews and really good user ratings. Will definitly consider.

I also looked around some more on Tire Rack and the best sellers for my Cherokee Sport were: Dunlop Radial Rover A/T, Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo, and Firestone Destination LE.

Any comments on these tires?

Thanks again

Regards,
Shawn
