PWR steering problem

PWR Steering only works for 30 secs after engine is started. PWR steering stops and then will work again when engine is switched off and then restarted, 30 secs later and stops again.

PWR steering warning light on dash does not come on at all. Don`t think this is the common relay problem as there seems to be the 30sec time frame where the PWR steering works and then ceases to.


Would like to change to manual rack like on my old MR2 turbo but this car isn`t mine and the friend does not want a manual rack.

Any help would be appreciated
