97 Eclipse 5 sp stuck in 2 gears???

Just bought an Eclipse but it won't move. It sorta feels like it is hung in 2 gears. On the shifter 1st and 2nd seems free and will not go into either gear. 3rd and 4th seems to "feel" fine and 5th and reverse also feel fine but the car seems to be locked or stuck in 2 gears?? Anyone have any ideas about this.

Your post gives little to no info. Too many variables at this point.

So, it goes into 3rd and 4th, but not 1st or 2nd? Any grinding noise or no sound at all? When did it start doing that? :wink:

yea what year, what type of noise is it makeing, did you buy it like this, where did you buy it from, so 1st and 2nd wont engage. Give us a little more info.

It could need a new tranny, my work truck did this when all of the gears were "rounded". When I tried to go into 1st and 2nd all that I could feels was a roundedness where the gear was supposed to be, also there was alot of play in the stick when in a gear I could get it into. But We do need more info!
