What are your projects for 2005?

After seeing my thread from last year pop up, I figured, time for a new one for '05. It's funny, I didn't do any of the expected projects of 2004 from that thread. I still plan on building the Sauber C9 (maybe in time for Le Mans), but I scrapped the others.

So, 2005. Obviously, finish the ones I started from 2004. That'll probably take most of the year. :iceslolan Of those most importantly, my detailed Fabulous Celsior which stalled as I built the doors. And then continue with my race team theme; after my Drift Chaser will be a Le Mans Toyota GT-One and a JGTC Skyline. Maybe a Super Taikyu S15.

New to the mix is the complete Marui Cannonball Run set that I just picked up. I just wanted the Ferraris, but got it all. So now I'm debating if I should build them as a set like in the movie or not. Whatever I decide, I'll build them soon, as I've been wanting them for awhile.

So what about you guys?

I'm planning to finish my yellow R32 which is still in progress, in 2005. Next to that I hope to finish my highly detailed SAS R33 400R, but I'm not sure about that. Furthermore I'll finish my Bomex RX-7 that is in progress also.

I'm also planning to do the D1 Kei Office Drifter and D1 Apex RX-7. And who knows what comes around in time. I've got room and time for other projects still :D

Unpack my modeling gear, after almost a year without doing anything, and get on with some of the kits I've got waiting to start/finish!

I must finish the Focus WRC Performance Blue first, then finish the Celica Kaminari (SAS), then after that there's a 350Z with SAS Nismo kit, Ducati 888 Racer, classis Mini Cooper rally, and an Impreza WRC 2001.

My main plan for the new year is to get the necessary materials to start a bit more scratchbuilding and conversions of OOB kits. My imagination is writing cheques that my skills can't pay ;)

The only thing to do for '05 is to finish what I start and try to reduce the stock pile. But things I want to do is the '63 Nova from Trumpeter, Bismarck from Tamiya (what's that got to do with car modeling...huh?) and some 70 other projects that is lurking on the shelfs waiting for me.

To many of that, I will try to do this:
Toyota Corolla WRC street version with F50 wheels and brakes
2x Honda RC211V Valencia GP in 1/12 and 1/9
Ducati Desmosedici 1/9 superdetailed
I think that should be enough, i will try to squize the Fabia WRC in but I am not sure.

Finish "nightmaR3Z" (almost done)

"Parkin' lot pimpin'" UCF31 Celsior with more than usually seen. Frame, brakes and exhaust done. No undercarriage detail as the car sits on the bumpers. Literally.

"Tribute" Aoshima ChikiChiki Racing Celica fastback. Tribute to my uncle, the one who started the monster car lover I am.

"UK R34" Private owner theme. Aos. C-west with some add-ons.

Top Secret R34 (Aoshima)

HKS S15 (Aoshima)

"EGG" Hasegawa EG6 Si-R. The twist will be in the unveiling.

Who knows what I'll start, I know it'll be at least one Tamiya 1/12th motorcycle, probably a Hayabusa.
I hope to finish the LightSpeed F150 and the Porsche 910 Street Carrera.
I'll make tons of parts for the Blue Seven, no attempt to finish it next year, maybe in 2006 (Ha!) or 2007 (more likely, but no guarantee).
Just build what you want, try to finish some of them, and enjoy the time doing it... That's my plan... - Mark

Hopefully, I'll finish my Sauber before 2005, so my projects for next year are:

- Alfa Romeo Giulia
- Lancia Delta Integrale Fina
- Mercedes CLK DTM Team Teille
...and hopefully, another Sauber MErcedes C9, with the AEG decals

Will I have the time?

Aside from the '04 leftovers...
Custom New Beetle
Lambo Diablo Roadster
300ZX Vert.
There are a few in the pile that are calling louder than most...
Tamiya Ferrari F50 w/S27 PE
Amt '55 Chevy PU on the Wagonrod chassis
Revell classis Beetle (doors are already cut out)
Revell New Mini Cooper S version! w/MCG PE
I'm really leaning toward doing something simple though. A box stock build of a curbside kit maybe.
Maybe...
I've never been much on resolutions.

hmm my plan for this year is to finally get a chance to work on some models...its been a few years and i've been buying them up and brainstorming like crazy. The main ones i'd like to finish are my tamiya skyline(paint the body) the fujimi initial d sileighty(paint the body and some small body work), build a replica of my car whenever it gets finished using the fujimi new sileighty(has aero bumper, and kouki side skirts molded in already) build my pro touring aoshima intercepter, finish one of my 32 fords, and get started on my ala kart track roadster idea...and maybe a few others..i keep seeing more stuff I wanna build..lol

For 2005, I think it would be swell if I could get more than two models finished ('04 was a slow year...). I think a reasonable goal is to build my Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari F40/F50/Enzo, and maybe a muscle car or two.

Maybe, if I have some time in college, (that's right, I'm going off to college next year. :uhoh: ) I'll build a few more Tuners

An un-reasonable goal would be to build a replica of my 1:1 Miata, and a tribute/replica of my long-lost DeLorean...

But let's not get carried away. :iceslolan

I have a few models to do.

One is a R32 skyline which will be pretty much stock besides maybe a FMIC and or such. Then a 55 chevy nomad which will be all reworked. Wait for a thread later this month or the start of next month. Might even finish my wide body shelby if i ever get around to it.

Also starting to come back to here. Its the winter.

1. Finish my Escalade, I'm still mad excited over that.
2. Finish my 787B. Slow, all the detail work hurts my brain!
3. The ski trip WRX The decals are finally coming!
4. FW24 with SMS superdetail kit. That's pretty intimidating.
5. 1:12 NSX. Want to talk about intimidating?
6-53,423. All the other stuff that catches my eye.

Next year, I'll gradually start building up skills in scratchbuilding things for cars. I want to build a Revell Trabant 601 (small car from eastern germany, the former DDR) with full engine, interior and trunk detail.

As I stare at the pile of unbuilt kits....

I'm going to finish both the Cobra and the Lightning next semester. That might not be a realistic goal, considering my class list reads:
Intro to Engineering Experimentation
Mechanics of Materials
Thermodynamics (one of the hardest engr classes ever, so I hear)
Principles of Electrical Engineering (Circuit Theory basically)
Engineering Analysis for Mechanical Engineers

I probably won't get anything done next summer, I hope to get my job back at the machine shop which means a) 45 hour weeks and b) shakey, exhausted hands

But, without being realistic, I'd like to build:
Revell 2002 SS Camaro in Sunset Orange Metallic
AMT 1998 Corvette Convertible in 50th Anniv. Red (gotta find a kit first)
Revell Saleen Convertible in Victory Blue
Shelby GT350 and GT500

Well, my two carry-overs from 04, a 98 Vette Roadster and finishing an old S2000. Otw, my roommate wants a replica of his old Beetle, and then i'll attack my pile of unbuilts--make an attempt at improving the Fujimi NSX, have at my Tamiya F50, Italeri (!) Diablo, Tamiya Sauber C9, and maybe an SAS S2000 if i'm lucky.

Now that my MBA is out of the way I intend to devote a little more time to my hobby - if my wife lets me. I want to finish my 2004 projects (Datsun 510 and WRC Focus) and look at doing a couple of the F1 kits in my cupboard (F2001 and Tyrell Yamaha). If I do all of that I will be happy.

Huh? Then all you need to build a "Trabbi" is just a sheet of paper and lots of glue ;-) Weren't even the real cars were built that way? I must know it, drove one some years back!

1: Build a spray paint booth so I can spray things in my apartment.
2: Complete my widebody RX-7
3: Complete my flat black YZ-F R1.
4: Either complete, or throw out, my '49 Merc with a Dodge Sidewinder Chassis underneath. This one seems to continually hit another problem. Right now, I'm looking at a track width on the sidewinder that is a little too wide, so it's going to need either new rims or something else really radical (widebody '49? No, I don't think that'll happen). This car is constantly evolving. Originally it was going to have a NASCAR spec Chevy V8 and Corvette rear suspension. But the problems are starting to get to me.
5: I want to get something with decals out the door. Toyota Corolla Rally Car, or maybe the Pug.
6: It's about time I get a digital camera.

- Revell 1969 Ford Talladega
- Revell Datsun 510
- AMT 1969 Oldsmobile 442
