Cold Start Mercedes 300e

I Have A 1988 Mercedes 300e (124 Chassis). It Stumbles And Does
Not Start First Thing In The Morning Unless I Keep My Foot On
The Gas Pedal. This Persists Until The Engine Warms Up A Little.
It Does Not Occur At All Later In The Day. The Vehicle Has Just
127,000. Miles On It. I Live In Arizona And The Morning Temper-
Atures Have Been In The 50's.
