Here's my Quick Modeling Fix... A 1:25 AMT Snapfast kit.

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/198972sc01-box-01.jpg

I originally bought this kit because I love the body on it, it would make a killer detailed street rod. Well ... I got it in the mail today, and after opening the box I couldn't help myself ... it was on. :naughty:

I only did a couple of things to it. First was to can the toyish looking tri-blade wheels, they were replaced with a set of Pegasus chrome T's, 19" front and 23" rears. The body is molded in the blue plastic with white painted stripes. There were a bunch of fine scratches all over it and some pretty heavy ones on the top. Without getting out the sandpapaer, a quick once over with Meguiars #7 glaze and a coat of wax. I also black washed the grill and painted the side pipe ends. After that it was all snapped together. No brakes on it, I don't have a spare set and the headlight lens are not snapped all the way in the housings as I will take this car apart one day and build a better detailed rod out of it.

Till then I'll just enjoy rolling it back and forth across my desk. :evillol:

Comments welcome

Love it i had the crysler of that series but i used the rims on a 70 charger because i got stuck on the whole 22' rims on a older car thing (living in the hood at time) but it looked awsome and it was left behind but i would love the caprice cop car!

Awesome! Looks a bit like the Prowler (Chrysler) but with a roof. I think I´m in love with those rims, looks like Torque Thrusts. Anyway, it looks great but is there any engine details?

Thanks for the comments.

The kit only has 24 pieces, and if you don't count the wheel swap, polishing and the minor painting I did, you can snap one together in about 2 minutes :icon16:

SupaMan89T - I saw the caprice cop car on Ebay today, I think it starts at $4.00

WeaPoN [X] - Got me thinking for sure, with only some minor mods it could be a real nice car. And go together quick.

ol' dude - Oh Yea, wheels been turning all day as I look at this thing on my desk, I gotta get another for modding.:iceslolan

Hiroboy - The wheels make it, the ones that come with it make it look like a toy. If I had a set of Pegasus disc's they would be on here too.

DukeMan - Yea it does kinda have the shape of the Prowler. Not much detail, no interior or engine. You only see what looks like a set of valve covers through the side openings. It wouldn't take much to open the sides up and put a detailed engine in there.

Hmmmm, I might have to get 2 :evillol:
