I am planning on buying a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited in the very near future. As a matter of fact, im going to look at one this weekend. My questions is, is $3000 a good deal for a 95' GC Limited in good condition with 165k miles? I talked to the dealer and he has answered quite a few of my questions such as clear title, runs good, transmission good, 4wd works properly, and some other quick ones like no rust. He says its a very solid vehicle and I have read on websites that the 4.0L GC's "can" last up to 200k miles. I am just afraid that it might not be dependable because I will make a few long trips, ie. couple hour drives once a week. I am a hunter and will also be taking it off-road every once and a while. So let me know what you guys think about this car and if I should pick it up for the price. Also, do you think the i6 or v8 is better, will mostly be doing highway driving. Thanks

I have a 95 with 187,000. Engine has never had any problems and burns zero oil. Gas milage on highway is 23-25. My opinion is that the 6 is more reliable than the 8 for mechanical problems and burns a lot less gas. And $3000 sounds like a fair price if the drivetrain is in good shape. Plan on $75-$100/month on other parts to keep it running well

Yea I went all the way up to South Dakota to buy this Cherokee. Its a 95' with 165k miles and it made the 6 hour trip without any problems. I am really happy with it so far, and it is the I6. Hopefully it will keep on keepin on. Thanks
