It's ok, I like the the older one, cause the front on the new one are ugly. That's a weird shifter

I think that would actually be good to have the shifter there. Definitely something to get used to. And it's unique.

kris

the shifter is ergonomically correct.

GOD

It's kinda messed up if u ask me but then again we'll all probably get use to it and all the cars of the future will be like that .

are you sure it's gonna b a 2.0? last i heard they didnt want to use tha rsx engine because they didnt want to let a civic macth a acura, thus they decided to use a 1.6 vteci engine, maybe they changed their minds

Yeah man, I think the "data on the Si" is inaccurate. I'm pretty sure the new Si's using that K series 2.0 liter engine (detuned to make 160 horsepower like the base RSX). And I actually like the shifter. It is ergonomically correct, and the placement of the shifter closer to the wheel means the driver has less time with his hands distracted from steering. It's actually a great move for the aspect of racing. And it does open up some usable floor space, believe it or not.

When is this due out or is it just a concept? It is a bit on the FUGLY side....

It’s due next year as a 2003 model. I believe it’s scheduled for a spring release.

oh god, this thing is really ugly. Honda is really ruining their cars.why do the new civics look like a focus?

dudes, listen to yourselves!!! dat's what you guys probably said when the previous civics came out. 'wat the hell with those bubbly big headlight?' 'the hell's with the hatchback?!' but then you guys learned to like them and cherish them...just get use to the new designs....probably takes a year or so, but once it's got into ya, it'll stay.

man that new Si is butt ugly. nagahahahahahhaa!!!:frog:

but dat's what I felt about my previous model hatchback when I saw it. now, I love how it looks (gotta 2000modelHB.)

They should of made the Coupe the Si. I do not like the Hatch. Its gotta be seriously uncomfortable to have your arm streched all the time to shift. Its not like they can have a high arm rest. It will take alot of getting used to.

IMO the new civics are awful.. Im just not going to say what it looks like........ I wont do it................. Im trying not to say it............. Ok.................... Its looks like a focus:(

I dont see why "some" Honda guys look down on the Focus, If you compare them stock vs stock, The Focus wins in every category, Focus ZX3 is 135 HP, the EX Civic is 127, the Focus has more torque and weighs a bit less, Handles better because it has the VW GTI characteristics where it shifts all its weigh and sticks lifting the inside wheel. Very predictable, Civics once you push them beyond the limit they plow like a mofo and not to mention the Focus is about $2,500 less than the civic ex. If you compare the SVT Focus VS the SI coupe the SVT wins once again.. and its cheaper, has more power, more torque, ZTEC if you love VTEC so much, bigger brakes, white face gauges, racing pedals and shifter, bigger sway bars, and they will offer ABS, one thing you cant get on the SI. Also comes with a better sound system than an SI, bigger rims and stiffer suspension, so please tell me why the Focus sucks so bad?? Also the SVT has Suade seats..Don't get me wrong i love Hondas but the Focus is a great car for the money.. Take that to the bank. And stock VS stock the Focus will beat any civic. Sure the styling is a bit acward but it is still a sweet ride. Don't mean to flame anyone just like to make a point of comparison between both cars. Also if you think the Focus is not going to catch up, think again, look at the Meguiars Focus, took it less than one season to break into the 8s, It has taken Honda over 10 years to do that..The top 3 racers in the country includes a Ford Focus. Anyhow, time to go. Personally i would not buy a Honda or Focus, the only car for me is the E-FD3S TT or Mazda RX-7 Twin Turbo 1.3Liter Rotary powered for those that didn't know.
Peace out.:smoka:

Oh yeah i think the new Honda Civic HB is pretty tight, the shifter has to go, It would be nice if they offer the Type R with the 200HP engine and 9,000 RPM redline.. that would be sweet.

With the shifter there, it feels like you'd be playing a video game. Surely something to get used to.

It's rally inspire shifter. It is place close to the steering wheel for quick reaction.

Im sure it has the potential to be a good looking car. Some days I like it, others I dont. Here is my version of it.

Nice dropped CTR. It's too bad a great engine got placed into a bad body panel design.
