ford ps 4 inch exhaust

Any help on installing a 4" exhaust on a 97 Ford PS. I have it in the box and not started yet BUT I hear the downpipe is a bi..h to install as the firewall need to be pushed towards the cab to clear the downpipe. Any ideas on a easy way do accomplish this . {porta power maybe ??
