SD300 Glovebox Woes - New to Forum

Hi, I'm new to the forum (and) new with Mercedes vehicles. When I like things I just have to buy TWO of them!
Sooo> Within the last two weeks, I've purchased TWO > a 1982 300TD-T and a 1985 300D-T
1st Q. How in the HECK do I get the glovebox latch assembly out so I can re-glue the wood trim piece that's falling off? I've already got the entire door off, just cannot figure out how to get the lockset out without breaking the plastic.
Any help would be much appreciated.
