There is one at my school, the girl let me drive it :) But sorry, I don't have any info on it. They are quite rare though.

I like this car. It had a 3.3 liter six but not V6 but flat6 in typical Subaru fashion. I would really love to see Subaru take the chassis and engine of the Impreza WRX/STI and place them in a rakish coupe body like that :naughty:
I am too lazy to search the net to see how many they made but I'm sure it won't be much (especially sold outside Japan)

they're not that common, the guy that owns a local tuner shop has like, 5 of them. nice looking cars.

If you'd like to find out everything about them you can go here http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/ . I see them pretty often in New England, but they're still cool cars.

3.3L H6, 210hp, 4AT(Sole transmission...Someone DID swap in a 5MT from Subaru), AWD, 4 seater, anything else wanna know?

In my opinion, that's one of the nicest looking car I've ever seen.

Theres a (hot) girl in my school who drives one. I think the car looked kinda crappy, especially the boxy tailights, but until I realized the full potential of it. She beat both an Integra Type R and a 00+ Toyota Celica GT-S (both owned by students from my school) by 5 or 6 car lengths in a race after school, and I learned to like her car. She has the car stock except for a steering wheel.

I've always liked how the SVX looks, I would certainly consider buying one and throwing in a EJ25T and a 5 Speed manual. Would make a much better looking alternative to the ugly WRX.

Alright, it's got a 3.3L, 24 valve, DOHC horizontally opposed 6 cyl engine making 230HP @ 5400, 228 ft/lbs. @ 4400. Yes, it originally only came with the 4EAT auto trans, but several people have swapped in 5 and 6speeds sucessfully. It was made from model years '92 to '97, with only 14,400 or so being imported to the US. Like the XT before it, it had a nice low drag coefficient, of 0.29. The '92 had no speed limiter, but others were limited to 135. All models except for some '94 and '95 L models were AWD.

Racing an SVX from a stop and racing one from about 40+ are two totally different races.

My friend had one, and she'd let me drive it all the time, and it was damn nice.
Sadly though, hers ended up having the transmission give up on her, which was one of the only major flaws in the car.

As mentioned above, to find out more about them, go to http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/

An SVX beating a Hype R and Celica GT-S, not likely. But then again, high school kids think they can drive....

An SVX can beat them up. I've lost to one before, and I was driving a FD. Yes, you can say I don't know how to drive, but the true reason was I wasn't intend to race, and I just raced moderately. But when I realized that it's going to pass me, I floored it, but still lost...

I remember seeing lots of them it when I was about 9 down in lubbock, texas. That was about 92 I think. I was fascinated by the windows in the car and used to look at them when I would walk to school. too bad subaru didn't do more with the car. Probably if they would have know that people would be so into fast turbocharged all wheel drive cars, they would have kept producing it and eventually given it some real guts.

SVX STI-really like the sound of that.

THE WHOLE svx VS tYPE r AND cELICA gts... cmon guys!!! the type R makes 210 or 220 horses with j-spec tuning and other bolt on mods and the GTS only produces about180 stock and withsome bolt ons it will only produce like 200-210 and they both are still FWD's!!! and the frikkin SVX is a god damn 3.3 litre 6 cyl 230 horses producing monster all stock and the biggest thing of it all is that its an AWD!!!!! whoever says an SVX cant beat a celica GTS and a Type R... i think you're a little over your head with the imports... i love imports, but o dont over extimate them, i actually look at how much horses they make too, and lets say they all got similar horses... naw lets look at TORQUE...
GTS=130 @ 6800 RPM stock
Real Japanese Type R integra(not GSR)=140 @ 7500 RPM
SVX=228 @ 4400 RPM TO ALL 4 WHEELS DAMN IT!!!

Thus, a subaru SVX can beat the shyt out of a Type R and a Celica GTS.

hey numnuts, you have to remember that the SVX weighs almost 1000lbs more than the other 2 cars. the only numbers that matter with a car is the lb/hp ratio. and yes, the Subaru is an import as well. and btw, the HypeR has over 200hp stock and comes with a stock LSD. for its time, the SVX was a pretty cool car, but a slow dinosaur in comparison to modern cars.

Actually for a car that is said to go 0-60 in 7 seconds 15 and a half is pretty good for a 1/4 mile time. Also 140mph is not the fastest an SVX (without a governor of course) can go, someone in Germany drove the SVX on the Autobahn to a speed of 175mph, since the speedometers that show kmph can be translated to a higher mph than what is shown as the max speed for the USDM ones. The SVX was never designed for 0-60 to acceleration in mind, hence the wide gear ratio, where the car really shines is 40+, handling or just cruising around. That doesn't stop some people from modding it though. Someone actually ran 13.2 at a trap speed of 106mph (must have been some wheel spin) with an SVX with a couple shots of no2. Not to mention people have gotten into the 14s with a manual swap. So even though the SVX was never designed as a sports car in a true sense you can at least mod it in order to get it closer.

My Commodore does 0-100km/hr (62m/h) in 7.11 seconds. I haven't timed it on a 1/4 yet.

The easiest, and the most important swap is just a MT in the SVX...then it can be a different story...
