Completed Gold Civic Type-R

Here is my latest completion, a Fujimi CTR. I sprayed it w/ Tamiya gold and polished it out after clearing. I wasn't too sure about the color, but I said screw it, I've already put enough time into this one. Also, gold is a really tricky color to make it look right, it shows all of the paint's imperfections. The wheels are the new(er) Aoshima 19" Volk Racing sprayed the same color. Headlights were done with Alclad (a necessity with these lights). The front grills on this kit were disappointing with their molded-in parts, so I feel Fujimi could have made this kit a little better and that regard. Overall though, I'm happy with the kit. Not too bad... I still need to put decals on the rear wheels and add a license plate, but it's pretty much done.

Nice build. You've made that POS Fujimi kit look nice. Not an easy accomplishment. The paint looks super as well.

Hey, thats really cool, I´m not a big fan of Civics but yours looks so good that I almost feel like changing my mind. Really like the color-combo and the shine is impressive, but some outdoor pics would be nice. BTW Is it lowered?

Hey man that looks great! The shine on it is lovely! The wheels don't seem like they are 19's, seem like 17-18 on this car. Which is a good thing. I remember that yellow Integra that you built. Believe it or not i do frequently search for that car to look at it for help on my current and future Integra's! Do you have anymore Honda's that you would like share with us :iceslolan

Wicked build, those Aoshima TE37's look way better than the fujimi's. I reckon if those wheels were white it would be a nice contrast to the look of the car instead of it being all gold. But hey that's just my opinon.

BTW Is it lowered?
Barely, perhaps a 1/16th of an inch from stock. To lower this car, I had to thin the insides of the front fenders a lot to make the wheels fit, even for this small amount of difference.

When I was putting this one together, I tried that. Actually, it looked pretty good, definitely an option there. When it comes down to it though, I really like the look of gold on gold in some of Top Secret's cars.
http://www.topsecretjpn.com/topsecretenglish.html They have a gold Integra (RSX) with white rims on their site, it looks pretty tight though!
Do you have anymore Honda's that you would like share with us?
I have few cars that will be done soon (S2000, EK Civic, R32, Revell Civic Si, and perhaps a Prelude if I'm motivated). You'll see them eventually.
