93 Altima Electrical Problems!

I have been reading posts for a while. Hoping to see if anyone else had already asked the questions I have. No real luck so far. So here I go, I hope someone can help me.

My son was just given a 93 altima gxe automatic. The alarm had been removed and slowly elect. problems started. At times you can put the key in and the car will not start, once started runs fine until you shut it off. I can hear a switch near the fuse box under the dash clicking when try to start. Radio will work only when you turn the key on, then hit the door frame (either side of the car). And the power windows will not work, even though can hear the switches in the door frames clicking when you try to roll them up or down. If anyone had any suggestions or ideas where on the car I can find this short, would be greatly appriecated! Could it be in the ignition switch?

wow...that sounds wierd. probably when they pulled the alarm out they pulled a wire loose from the ignition or maybe a ground. but i would have no idea where to look. i would take it back to whoever removed it and ask them where the alarm was. then start looking in that area. good luck...i hate electrical problems. :D

Check the dealership, for a new wire harness and check out the price of installing it, that would be the best way to go ... you could prolly also go to the local mechanic, and have then look around for the wires that are loose.

the stereo was taken out of mine then the windows on pass side stopped workin. might b water got in black box it did in mine , now my speedo is not working. check for water leaks at pass side door

wow, i'm getting exactly the same problem. I left my altima on the side of the interstate today because of it. If it doesn't start, will have to tow to mechanic.

I had a problem with the alarm, sometimes it would unlock the doors and sometimes it wouldnt. I just moved a ground wire from the body to the engine ground and it seems to work fine now, dont know if it works fine becuz of that or just because alot of stuff was shaken when I took my tranny off.

check where the sound is coming from. There is a possible shortage.
