My first kill in the Z!!!

I was riding down 316 in my car and my friend with his 01 GT (Bassani x-pipe, Bassani catback, and pulleys. 13.80's at commerce) was behind. We were going to a party about 25 miles away from his house.

I didnt think he wanted to play at first then he gets up beside me and tells me to put on the brakes. We slow to about 20mph, he drops it to 1st and so do I. He speeds up a little bit all the sudden and gets about half a car in front of me then jumps on it. That little mother %^#%^!!!! :swear: So i hit it too, took her up 6K and slammed 2nd. I slowly began to pull and by the time I hit around 80 i was back even with him.

Time to shift again, went to 3rd. As soon as i did i started to pull pretty hard on him and took her up a little over 6K to make sure, hit 4th and i was off to the races, with him about 4-5 cars behind. YAY! I shut down at 110. :lol2:

So him being him, he wants to try it again. Same outcome, except he doesnt get the half car headstart this time and i take him by about 6 cars up to 120 when my damn car hit the govener. I was like wtf? :eek7: So i shut down. :mad:

All in all a fun night of racing and drinking (after i drove of course). :nono:

LoL :lol: Nah, i guess its pretty much bone stock. It looks like a LS6 intake on on their but i thought they didnt put those on until 00'. I dont know, could be wrong.

I cant wait to start moding though, its gonna be sick! :icon16:

2nd gear should only pull you to about 60mph... you should be in third gear by 90mph.

Actually 2nd gear pulls to around 80mph, 3rd pulls to little over 100mph.
And to answer anybody elses question i have a limiter, car backs back down after 119, so when you hit 120 your not going any faster, even if only in 4th.

I believe there 3.42's.

My car is doing 90mph at the top of 3rd with a 5spd and we think 3.90 gears.

Odd yours being a 6spd that it's so 'long legged' as it were.

I'm not sure what exactly your trying to say. I hope your not trying to say that i'm lying about the length of my gears.

If you think i am, look it up, or ask somebody with a LS1 M6. Dont doubt people unless you know. Not trying to be a smart ass or flame.

Actually i'm suprised that a person with as much knowledge about automobiles as yourself would doubt me. But once again not trying to flame, just saying.

most of the 5 speeds ive driven will top between 70 and 90 in 3rd. top about 120-130 in 4th. most of the time cars are governed before they can accelerate any in any overdrive gear. 6th is basically an extra over drive. though im not completely sure. the only 6 speed ive driven is my friends moms kompressor. which isnt exactly the fastest sport compact in the world. still pretty quick.
