'92 Grand Am

I own a '92 Pontiac Grand Am which I am desparately trying to nurse through another New England winter! I am not at all interested in spending thousands of dollars for a new car although repairs on my current auto (170,000 miles) are a bit more frequent. At any rate, I just spent close to $750 having the heater core replaced (leaking; lost anti-freeze) and new starter. Now, just a few days later, my ABS dash light is on and I cannot figure out why. The brakes seem fine and I hesitate to return to dealer for more repairs. Anyonw with ideas or suggestions? I am told every time one area is repaired another will show weakness! Not to mention that I really like my auto.
Thanks, Armeather
