OK say I just wanted a show/race 95 r33 GT-R to US (that is all no more - I would never drive that thing in the snow and this is MN so yeah there is no reason I would want it as a daily driver) How much do I expect to spend? Also how many road miles is it a year (facts please NO gueses) to drive to shows and races. Please mods- sticky this the other stickies tell about street cars and I am not sure about the Show/race only cars- so I am sure the nebies aren't either. Thanks!

There is no need to make this or the other thread a sticky. At the end of the day, currently as far as I'm aware of, MotoRex or RBMotoring are the only places that are selling LEGAL skylines. So in saying that it appears only a quick jaunt to their website will satisfy your questions.

But wouldn't he just have to register it for show/race use? Can't he just import it rather than going through MotoRex, or RB?

Anyway, the site shoudl answer your Q's, but I don't think you need them to get your car in??

Razor, if that's what you just said, sorry. I am sick and tired. Not of anything, just sick and tired.

Skylines cannot be brought in under show use. There are two reasons, over 500 were produced and there isn't an "exceptional technological and/or historical significance" And the second is that it has been determined eligible for importation, by Motorex.
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/ShowDisplay/

Race use import isn't easy either, you have to have a lot of proof that it is going to be used for racing (Scheduled races, licence, class, etc.)

And also... I cant show the website to verify this, but I have heard from mB (Skylines America) that the absolute maximum you can have a race purpose car in the states for is 5 years MAXIMUM... Doesnt seem worth it, huh?

also the fact that there is a current RI legalizing the car, which throws the whole "show use" rule out the window.

Ug I am sick of this crap, fak it. I just noticed this...

"Is it just me or is it with a slight modification that the 94-98 ford mustang looks alot like the 95-02 nissan skyline series cars? You cange the bumpers, side skirts, front lights, tail lights, and the rear windows on the sides to a point, the gascap to be a rounded off square, through on some new emblems. Now you've got your self a skyline gtr. Has anyone else noticed this? Also didn't ford have something to do with nissan in this year range or is this information incorrect?"

And with the money it would take to get the thing here I could beef up the stang to out move the skyline.

40k invested in buying JUST car or 40k invested in beefing up car hmm.....

Now you've got your self a skyline gtr
No, you don't.
You have a genuinly screwed up mustang.
If you want to do it, be my guest, but it is NOT a GTR under any circumstances. Even if you paint a giant GT-R logo on the side of the car, it still would be a good looking ford. And even that's risking it.

So, either mutalate a ford, or stop bitching about the price. You should come here informed that it costs a hell of a lot more than it should tol import one, so If you don't want to, that's your choice. No need to complain.

PS, 40k? I don't think so. I am sure 69, or 3rd could get you one for 10k. But since you want to mutalate a mustang, just forget I ever said that....

Alright, at least you didn't flip out.

OK, but I mean, if you want a REAL R33 GTR, you'd be payin 27-30 k, which is less than modifying a mustang....

Well not to be a dick but there is an r34 full kit at andys auto sport.com

If one orders a r34; wing, tailights, front lights, and an emblem set...well.

Just look at that year rang once

http://www.fordcobraengines.com/95%20GT%20Customer.htm

and then the r34 not much modifing to make it almost be a r34 or more or less a gts -t if you will.

hahaha if your talking about legalized your numbers are way off. 27-30 is what you get an r32 GT-R for.

im talking fully legalized for US use...i mean we arent in japan and this forum is for those in the UNITED STATES its just a given that these numbers should be AFTER legalization if you want one in the US. my3rd lives in japan incase you didnt notice...

and call me a retard, but im not finding this crap on aas.com where they are selling all that r34 crap you were talkin about.

"hehe! SOUNDS LIKE A WEEKEND JOB TO ME!!!" :greddy2:

you might get it to look like a skyline, but it wont. lets just say we are talking about an 04 mustang. just because they look somewhat decent size wise.

the mustang is over 3 inches wider than the skyline, not to mention a whole 2 inches longer. yet the skylines has 3 inches on the mustangs wheel base. you might get it to LOOK like one, but it still will look like crap and the only person youd be fooling is that drunk mexican down the street from you that owns that civic....you know the one with unpainted body peices?

dont try to come off all cocky like that, because you just end up looking like a retard. think about this, even IF you decide to fool someone, convert the WHOLE interior to custom "skyline style" interior, one look under the hood will turn them away. you put all this work into making your car look like something exotic, when really you see these peices every day.

lesson today:

you trying to make a mustang look like a skyline is like me trying to make a fiero look like a koenigsegg.

Otay, but i mean, you buy the car in Japan, through reliable sources here on AF. Then, you give motorex 16 grand to ship it and convert it. 2-4k for shipping. Register it, and your done. total cost is like 35-27 k, so I was 8-10 k off. Big deal:p

I've seen a sad attempt at it... Very sad... Guy that lives a few neighborhoods over in Bayshore tried to build a kit on his Pontiac Fiero to make it look like the Koenigsegg CCR... Wow that DID NOT work

I think he just scrapped it after a few months... Dont blame him.

Lol. I'll pay money to see any photos you have of this. You guys, if all else fails, buy a kit car. I am sure SOMEONE will start making them by the time we're old news:)
