Water / coolant sprayed in engine

I need help. Was driving my 96 civic DX tonight and when I stopped I noticed steam and/or smoke coming from the engine. I popped the hood to find coolant sprayed all over the front passenger side of the engine. Checked the coolant under the cap and was full but in the resevoir it was almost empty. It was not over heating but it appeared the fan was not turning on as well. The car seems to be running fine. What could be causing the leak? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would say it's a hose. There's one that connects between the overfill & top of radiator(fairy small) or the upper or lower radiator hoses. Easiest way to find the leak is to pressurize the cooling system.

Possbile the radiator split
Head cracked(fat chance)
Thermostat housing cracked or bad gasket

One thing I can say without seeing is it's not the water pump because that's on the driver's side. Well I guess it depends which country your in.
