stabilizer links, 2002 G Caravan

Can any one assist on how to replace stabilizer links? Need info on what needs to be suported etc.

I never did this before but it looks really easy. First jack up the front end and place stands under the frame. Remove the front wheels. Take the links off. You may need 2 wrenches for each end of the link to loosen them, and you may even need heat.
Now me saying it and doing it are two differnt things.

I replaced my links excactly as chigger described, it is really easy and I didn't even have to use heat.

OK...this thread is older than dirt, but thought I would keep like postings together.

My steering (1998 Gr. Voyager) is making this HORRIBLE rubbing metal-on-metal sound. I have crawled underneath and found the stabilizer bar links to be completely dry and the rubber gaskets gone, or near gone on both sides.

It looks pretty easy to replace them, but my question would be...am I going to screw up my alignment if I pull these off and replace them? It doesn't look like it, but this forum has gotten me through more DIY projects and saved me so much money, I figured I would ask and get the expert advice!

No alignment issues with replacing stabilizer links. Get the greaseable ones from NAPA. The hard part is removing the old links. Do whatever you must as you won't be reusing them.

you weren't lying. Those old ones were a pain in the arse to take out. But I'll tell you what, I went with the MOOG replacements, because they were greaseable, and it has made a WORLD of difference in the way that van handles. My wife commented that it feels like a new van.

I guess that means I let them get TOO bad before replacing them. LOL.

should turn 113000 miles this week in her, though. She's been a good van to us. I bought her just off lease, and she had 46000 miles. I've put very little in it to keep it going outside of regular maintenance

$750 for a head gasket replacement
$150 (total) for Radiator fan relay and associated connector replacement
$400 ignition replacement when the spring stuck and locked it up (at a gas station, no less)
$100 for these stabilizer links.

< $1500 in non standard maintenance, I'd call that a pretty good ROI. I'll never buy another one, though. I had a 2005, and it was a piece of garbage, so we got rid of it, and kept the 1998. I'm going to see how many miles I can get out of it. I dared my wife to shoot for 200K. (she wants a new Nissan Quest)
