First day of work today...

I just started my first proper job today, as an automotive technician (mechanic). Its all part of a school based apprenticeship, work holidays and 1 day a week during the school term, then TAFE once fortnightly.
Must say I was pretty happy with the way it turned out, was expecting to be dragging around the broom and mop for the first couple of weeks, but as soon as I arrived I was straight to servicing cop cars.
Had no real dramas, except for the Holden Rodeo we were installing a hard lid to the tray of. Finally got the bastard screwed on, took a quick breather and noticed the thing was metallic grey... Looked pretty out of place on a straight black car.
After a lot of screwing around with the parts department with 3 different paint codes (engine plate said the car was c18, the computer said 80u was the only form of black Rodeos came in, and the gunmetal grey was the closest match with the hard lid.) So back to Melbourne that thing goes to get resprayed.
Got to sit in 5 cop cars (bleeding the brakes), beats my current record of 2 in a day (drunk, out at 3 am).
Well just thought I would share. Anyone else started a new job recently?

I didn't mean it that way. I meant like put porn under the front seat, or something among those lines, not cutting the brakes.

An undercover car came in today, had to have a new windscreen installed after the old one was shot at. We didn't see the bullet holes though, the window had been removed prior to arriving.
A cop station wagon had its back seat full of crap today though, spewing for the cop who has to remove it all before the criminal needs to get in there... :grinno:
