I am under the impression that my car does not come with a block heater(1999.5 jetta 2.0).. but may come with an oil pan heater.. I am curious if anyone can tell me about installing an inline coolant heater and whether or not it can be done in the 2.0 I have found one called the tdi heater http://www.tdiheater.com Can I have this installed in a gas jetta or will it only work on a diesel? Any help or input would be greatly appreciated as it is getting colder by the minute..
cheers

I'm no mechanic, but a friend of mine installed an inline coolant heater in his 98 Jetta GL (Gas) and he says it works beautifully. Check out http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/ProductDisplay/s-10101/makeId-10000148/p-2473/c-10110/modelId-10001819

This is the heater he has and recommends.

Good luck
