Tell your instructor what you said, that you do fine on the homework but then get test anxiety; maybe they'll be able to make some accomodation for you, taking it in the instructor's office or something like that. It's worth a try.

It's a different book each time and they always have a different way of doing it that we have to follow. If they kept teaching how to do it the same way I'd probably do a lot better.

Thanks...but I don't think I made it up though.
Just got back from taking the test and I got a 95% so now I just need to talk to my teacher and find out what I need on the final to get the 70% or above. :iceslolan

Idiomatic - yes. Exotically-abbreviated - certainly. But made up? - not at all, any more than "would've" is made up.
