has anyone ever done the swap? i know its possible i'm just not sure if there is anything that i need to know. i have a f22b1 motor and all to bad the block has a hole in it =( but as far as i know the blocks are actually the same. back to the question couldnt i just change the head and ecu and run just a few wires and be done with it? i need a new timing belt and water pump so if its possible i want to change the head at the same time. i found a link earlier to a site where it has been done but i'm at a friends and his computer sucks and can't find it now. thanks in advance

I have a (Manual 97 Accord LX 2.2 SOHC, F22B2, OBD2)
I'm trying to find info on this as well. I just picked
up a complete f22b1 head on ebay for $90 shipped
including the entire valvetrain, couldnt pass it up!
The reason why i bought the head is so that i could
get a port and polish done without having any downtime.
Probably going to have it milled for higher compression too.
I was originally going to just get another b2 head from a junk yard
and have that machined, getting the b1 head was just an added plus.
I think you have to get a new cam gear and timing belt too.
I read somewhere that the f22b1 head is a bit taller.
Not positive on that. Someone also told me that you have
to tap the block and run the vtec line. I'm going to try and
find more info on that.
Your car has a obd2 ecu right?
I'm currently trying to find out if it is possible to run the
obd1 ecu from a 94ex with this conversion harness (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=79842&item=5729920514&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V) or if it would be easier to
just run the obd2 from a 97ex accord?
Would there be anything else involved with the ecu conversion to
obd1 besides the harness?
and if i did go obd1 what do you do with your secondary
o2 sensor? Do you leave it in the cat disconnected?
