Engine knocking?

Hey guys. Theres a 97 cav around the corner from me that has some engine knocking. My friend went to go check it out, so i dont know how bad it is...My brother said its a possibily thats its the pistion skirts. What are some other possibilities it could be...

Dump some Lucas Oil treatment in it and drive it anyway :) :) :) :)

Get an idea what is making the noise first. It could be a $2 bearing insert or a collapsed lifter, or a lot of other things that cost much more.
