Looking for a first buy

Recently I have found a new interest in muscle cars, particularly the Chevelle. After bringing up the subject of my first car with me dad, I let him know that I wanterd a muscle car. Unfortunatly, he said I couldn't get a Chevelle because it isn't safe for a first car and it is hard car to steer. I was wondering if any of you know of a muscle car that looks nice, is moderatly safe, and has steering that an amature could handle? Any info you could give me on a car or cars will be much appreciated. Thanks.

How about an A body, such as a Dart, or a Demon?

How old are you anyway? Chevelles are pretty big vechicals. I dont know anything about steering though. I bought a Nova that has no Power Steering. I thought it would suck. But after while I just got used it and it became easy. For a small car I would go with what Ghost said. A Firebird or Nova would be a good choice too. Its real your opinon though. I would just go test drive some cars and see how they feel to you.
