Malibu Performance Chip ?

there are all sorts of auctions on ebay for chips or sensors that will increase HP in 97-04 malibus up to +20. has anybody tried these or know if they are worth it? they are selling for under ten bucks!

Actually they aren't chips or sensors. It is a piece of wire that goes into the plug that attaches to air temperature sensor. You unplug the sensor shove the little wires inside it on each side and leave it unplugged. The computer gets a different reading on the air temerature sensor and does not retard timing. Thus, more power. It is basically a paperclip like resistor and count on gaining 1-3 hp. Or you could go to Radio Shack buy the same thing with change out of the ashtray and not be taken for a fool.
