Crankshaft Problem?

I just measured my crank out of my 4G63 for bend. It is bent .008 in and the rod journal where it spun a bearing is worn to far to be machined. Now I either need a new crank or a remanufactured one.
Does anyone know where I can get one? The only one I can find is $425 and I was told someplace has them for $250. Can anybody help?

It sounds like your car may have crankwalked...I find it hard to believe that the crank itself bent.

If I were you I would be looking for a 6bolt 1g motor to swap in.

EDIT>> I thought you were explaining that your bearing failed...are you positive the problem is with the crank itself and not the thrust bearings? How did you measure this distance...is it endplay or what?

why not just get a new crankshaft and save the trouble of finding a lowmilage 6 bolt which only came in the 90-91 models?

I would like to just replace the crankshaft but I don't know where to find a decently priced replacement. Please let me know where I can find that?

Please don't hijack the thread, crankwalk is explained in detail in the FAQ.

http://www.slowboyracing.com has a remanufactured one for $350.

to answer your question to gen2gst95's post is because crankwalk in the 6 bolt motor is pretty rare. there aren't many occasions of it happening like in the 2g turbos. plus the 6 bolt motor is quite a bit stronger anyways. always a good choice to do the swap if you plan on modding your car in the future. just fyi

What about putting a 6bolt crank in my 7 bolt block will that work?

Someone has told me that I can just swap in a 6 bolt crank. Why won't that work?

delete your other thread and keep all your questions about the same problem in one thread

as far as i know you need a 6 bolt block to use a 6 bolt crank.
