Hey all Eclipse are dsm engines. I am going to order an engine and transmission from www.proparts.com he says that it is a jdm engine for an eclipse because it comes from japan. What does anybody think I should get it or stick to dsm engine. Cuz they give me a good deal should i or not because i have to change some stuff like the intake manifold and sum other stuff too.

First off, welcome to AF! It looks like you a little confused about something, i hope i can help clear a few things up. First off DSM stands for:
DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors (used back in the Mitsubishi-Chrysler alliance of the late 80s/early 90s). This is why Plymouth Lasers, Eagle Talons, and the more common Mitsubishi Eclipses we talk about in this forum are referred to as DSM's. The Lancer and Galant VR4 are also called DSM's, but that is not something for the Eclipse forum! (This is straight from the FAQ sticky at the main page. The thread has alot of usefull info, so be sure to check it out)
As for the engines: The gsx runs a Mitsubishi 4g63 turbo engine, which is also in the gst and in the evo. The Non turbo models have a 420A engine. So this means that the term dsm, really has nothing to do with the engine code, but really with what kind of a car it is.
Also JDM stands for Japanease Direct Market (If I am not mistaked, somebody fix this if im wrong), which basically means that the product/item is coming from Japan.
I am also curious to know why you are changing the engine. Is the current one bad or is there something wrong with it?
Good Luck!

JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market...same idea as "Direct Market" ;). I don't know why you would want to order an engine from Japan and have it shipped, when you can pick up a 6 bolt on DSMTrader.com all day long, and not pay $1000 just for shipping.

+1 ^^ Yeah, that doesn't make sense really, unless there is some underlying factor that I don't know yet.

Well its cuz my engine is knocking and plus it already has alot of miles thats why im just going to get an jdm engine and a transmission with 40k so it will last me longer what do u think? They told me im going to have to do some changes though with the new engine.

Just get a rebuilt 6 bolt and do the swap. Total cost will be less.

Im going to get an engine and transmission with 40 miles for $1,800. Is that a fair price for a jdm. What would be better jdm or a dsm. Also what is the diff. between a 6bolt and a 7bolt what cars have witch. Just curious.

USDM.

A 7bolt will bolt right up, a 6 bolt will take a little work. The "JDM" will take the work of the 6 bolt, cost more, and benefit you very little over the 6 bolt.
All of that information is readily accessible.

Your engine is fine, unless you have a highly modded car and don't know how to tune.
