Ignition Key

Help,
I have a 1990 Honda Accord. When the weather is cold, I can't get the ignition key out for about a minute, sometimes longer. I hear it clicking as I push it in but can't turn it enough to remove. It's winter in NY and I'm tired of sitting in the car.

change you ignition switch. sometime too much weight on your keys damages the switch over time.

the teeths in the ignition may be damaged or your key is worn not allowing enough contact.

if yours is an old key, what normally happens is that the shoulders(the shoulders stick out to stop the key from going in to far) of the key wear down, causing the key to become inaccurate and catchy and makes it difficult to copy the key, if this is the case try a new key(mine had a code printed into it which helps when copying it). if that doesn't work then it must be the pinns in the ignition, you could have the ignition taken apart and checked but you'd probably get one cheaper in a breakers yard.,.,,,.,
