I bought a engine for my 96Taurus.I removed the cmp drive unit from the old engine. How do I get it back in the correct positition ?????

The procedure is detailed in Ford maintenance manuals and the Haynes manual as well. You will need a special alignment tool (plastic indicator that fits on top of the CMP housing) to rotate the CMP shaft to the proper position within the housing. The engine must be aligned to TDC for CYL #1 as I remember it.
I cannot believe that any shop with the basic knowledge of Fords and the alignment tool would take more than 15 minutes for this task with the engine in a disassembled condition.
