240 vs 3000GT

Ok my friend has decided to get a new car and its prolly going to be a 3000GT and i dont really know anything about it but if i was to race him say down a highway who do you think would win.... a 1990 240sx vs a 96 3000GT. Both stock but the 240 has a new tranny in it and i know how to handle my car pretty well

if its a vr-4 kiss ur sweet a$$ goodbye, even if it isnt, he will win, hands down. what i would do is take him on a really curvy road, and race him then. you might stand a chance.

Yea i would be afraid to take him on a windy road cuz this is like his 4th car in a year and a half he hasnt had good luck keepin his car not totalled. idk i still might have a chance even if it might be a very small one... and its not a vr-4

actually I'd have to say a 240 would win. It's not a vr-4, the stock 3000GTs are slow as shit. They run like 16s, like the 240s. They are heavy like boats (3500+ lbs). only the VR-4s are fast, a stock V6 it is possible for you to beat him. And yes, only the vr-4s are turboed, they are turboed AWD

is it a coupe or a conv.? if its a conv i bet you'll beat him, because they weigh 580 more lbs than the coupe im still leaning towards the 3000gt, if its the coupe. 222 hp vs 155. gt ~ 300 more lbs but,67 more hp. Who knows, I hope you win! gl.

240 - 2750 (coupe) or 2800 for hatch

3000gt coupe - 3252 lbs

Also it has 218 hp

The 3000gt will win my friend has had both the regular and now he has the vr-4. He beat me with the regular one, th only way you will win is if your friend cant drive and man are those vr-4s fast, twin turbo v6,320hp and all wheel drive.Oh and there is an even faster one the vr-4 spyder which has 400hp.

He will win even if it is like a 91 SL....he still has a lot more power than you. If it is a VR4, don't even bother, it is not even worth the chance of being caught by the cops or wrecking....but, I think that if you got an SR20, and he was an early model SL, you would have the advantage.

Other than that, don't bother, those things are killers.

Those engines are only a 2 bolt main so the tear themselves to pieces.

A few years ago i raced a 3000gt and i beat i was racing him on the free way but around 100 mph my foul pump gave out and he cought up and beat me i was like half a car length ahead of him, i guessing the engine was in bad condition =\ but i took really good care of the 240 i had at the time.

Well, compared to the almighty twin turbo Supra they are evenly matched in the 1320. VR4s run mid 13s stock, while a TT Supra runs mid-high 13s. They are on the same playing field as Camaro SS's, Cobra SVTs, so how are they the suckiest car in their class?

A few upgrades and you have them easily into the 12s....sucky how?

yeah i think it will kill a 20sx, but i dont care. At like autox or something that involves actually turns and not just drag, you could probably kill him, unless you are a bad driver and hes really good...

well im not saying the 3000gt is a bad car i love the car im just saying maybe the reason i beat the one i raced was because it was in bad condition. i know i wouldnt normaly beat one if it was in good conditions.
