Yeah...I did a search and read several threads about how they 'suck' but I haven't come acrossed any that have a point any better than 'it's originally fbody exhaust!'. So if you could link me to one I'm over looking I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Simply put performance wise they don’t suck what so ever they are pretty good Muscle mustang and fast ford has it on there project icebox and they love it also they did a test with a stock 97 gt and when they used slp longtube headers x pipe and catback they netted a second gain in the 1/4 mile. Now a lot of people don’t like them bc they were a gm only company and now they came over to the mustang world so a lot of mustang owners don’t like them. Personally I like them a lot bc in my opinion i don’t care if they are gm or no or what ever i look at the performance numbers and that’s what I care about. Gtstang has made very good points about how he doesn’t like them and his opinions should be respected and hiflow hates the sound. It’s all personal taste. I personally believe they are high quality all stainless steel. That’s just my :2cents:. so there you have it.

If you read the threads you know my feelings about SLP. You do not have to agree with how I feel about the subject. You can have your SLP exhuast, but I will personally view anyone with one as a poser who doesn't appreciate the years of hardwork put to create the marketplace they now get to enjoy.
As far as MM&FF/5.0 testing them SLP I personally could care less about that. MM&FF/5.0 are all about making money these days and have lost being about the passion of Stangers which is how they started.
These are the same companies that ran ads for Cincinnati Composites for over 2 years well after it was know by the mags, that all CC were in the business of was selling junk and ripping stang owners off.

To me, they're like a cheaper magnaflow. They sound very similar to magnaflow and they're about $100 or so dollars less. but...I still might go with magnapacks/x-pipe.

I read some threads. I didn't see any that had your standings on it...I just read a few people saying that sucked. I know I don't have to agree with you...but I want to be 100% sure when I do buy my exhaust..and this is kind of making me think twice about it. That and SLP exhaust is LOUD.

I don't think SLP is that loud, esp compared to my MAC set up. Again, I think SLP sounds fucking horriable on Mustangs, I have heard them in person and its very raspy and very poppy, like popping popcorn.
Bobby and I hate them for the same reasons. They spent countless years making only F-body parts and wanted nothing to do witht he Mustang crowd. Then what happened, no more Camaro, so they jump on the Mustang wagon, but just the newer stangs, but could care less about the older FOX generation.

You know, 2 years ago some people said the same thing about a little company called Air Flow Research that was just beginning to make SBF heads after years of Bowtie products......LOL.
I agree, the SLP exhaust sounds crappy. Then again, I never heard many F-bodies that sounded good to me.
And what do I know, I hate the sound of Bassani exhaust and I LOVE MY FLOWMASTERS! :)

ohhh. i see. you're just mad that SLP doesn't make parts for your foxbody! That's all that is! haha. no I'm just kidding. I haven't heard SLP in person...just sound files. Once again I'm leaning back to magnapacks/magnaflow xpipe.

No one has offended me in this thread so no worries. I just vented some of my feelings about things including 5.0 and MM&FF, magazines I don't even subcsribe to anymore cause I feel they have lost what I liked about them.
As far as comparing AFR to SLP there are some big key differences, AFR for many years only made race heads and had no interest in making heads for the street/strip racers. Since many racing classes/rules favor Chevy motors over others it only makes sense they concentrated on that this is where the main market was.
When they made the move to the street/strip scene the obviously came out with Chevy heads first due to trickle-down effect. But very shortly after that they started making SBF heads and did not just through a 1/2 ass attempt at it. The invested a lot of time money and R&D into SBF heads and have created and awesome line-up of heads for a SBF of vary degrees. They chose to make and invest in SBF heads not make them because all of a sudden the SBC market disappeared. That I personally find very different.
Last note I have not heard SLP on a Mustang but I personally think it sounds horrible on the LT1/LS1 I know have them. But sound is all subjective.

I really dont think this guy is happy unless he is argueing. A part of me doesnt believe he has any idea what he is saying and just looks for something or someone to disagree with . I dont care if you use fence posts for pipe and paint cans for mufflers if it sounds good. Why make a big issue about why GT Stang doesnt like the same exhaust that you do .
