Color Preference!

Everyone of us had preference in colors.
For example, models I've build before I coppied the colors either from 1:1 cars or just the popularity. Now as I start building my models I bought for over 2 years or rebuilding old ones - I choose light/bright colors: yellow, white, light blue, lime green, light red. I kinda dislike dark colors: black, dark red or blue, brown...

What is your opinion on color choice and how do you select the color: how do you base your selection?

Looking at my built models, I guess I prefer blues :screwy: Now I'm doing cars based on what my favorite factory colors are, i.e. Ford's Sonic Blue and Screamin' Yellow, Chevy's Sunset Orange and 50th anniversary Metallic red....

I build very few red cars, and I've only done one in white.

I've owned black and red cars only! And kinda got sick of these colors, not I've got a new member of family 04 Matrix SILVER. THen some of my models are black and red and I find that it is very had to keep them clean (I'm in progress of building and show cabinet for them), where other colors don't show as much dust as black and red.

Hopefuly this would change once I finish my cabinets.

Hey,

Well, it depends on the oreintation of the kit. ie. if it's a race car/rally car, it is getting what it needs, or if it is a copy of a 1:1 car. It really depends on the shape of body of the car. It also depends on my mood. Or, anything really. I've been experimenting with these new testors paints that are suposed to replicate oem paints. They have really nice colors. Also, I have been trying light colors and color tinted clears over darker color bases to see what effect I get. Sorry if I went off topic abit.

Not realy off topic. You actualy gave me an idea to try some custom fabrication of paint: mixed paint or fading effect.
