I need all the help i can get

My manual 99 isuzu rodeo has this grinding noise when idling, but if the clutch is depressed the noise goes away. Also, the noise is there while driving in low gears but in gear 4 it also goes away. I know its a clutch problem but what exactly and how do i fix it?

Probably a bad bearing on the tranny input shaft. Tranny will have to come out and the bearing replaced. I'm not versed in the details on how to replace it though.

Know anyone in the alexandria, virginia area with the know how for replacing or working on it?

Your way over on the other side of the country to me. I know a good tranny guy here in Spokane, but that doesn't help you.
