I am new to this site and I just wanted to say hi to all. I just bought a 2001 focus zx3 yesterday for 4k, with 75k miles on it. I'd say it's a fun little car to drive what pissed me off was the fact of the damn MIL light turned on today and it's bugging the hell out of me.

Thanks, actually the car is completely stock (for now), I just never had the chance to catch on fixing a car with aftermarket accesories. I guess it will be my project car and I have an idea of what I want after reading sport compact's "project cars" section on the 2001 focus. As for the engine light, I don't want to take it to the shop cause they will bleed me dry of my money, autozone offers free check engine light testing and I have a repair manual already which I will take care of what it needs, better be prepared and informed. I know I will get a lot of help from this forum, I've been told that the focus, well taken care of and pampered will have great potential.

is ur focus manual? the first day i bought my zx3, brand new, the check engine light came on, brand new, 23 miles on it! mine stuttered while i was driving it for a lil bit, not sure why light kept going on tho, it eventually went off. I would get ur sensors check, or check ur gas cap! lol. when i installed my intake, i accidently started my car w/o hooking up a switch to my MAF and my light stayed on for 3 days then eventually went off. weird stuff
