I was fooling around with an engine tonight, and decided to make some valve cover gaskets., for this all you need is some thin sheet plastic and siccors. i just cut a few thin narrow strips wide enough so they stick out when the valve cover is on. then just paint them blue or red or whatever. this will be a DEI engine and the pictures i have they use blue gaskets., anyway thats all there is to that. you can see the effect when i place the unfinished valve cover on.
anyhow i think it looks cool, just thought i'd share it.

Neat trick!I will try it. Do you think the width of the sheet should be thinner? and not stick out so much? 1:1 engines rarely have the gaskets sticking out several inches from the heads.
I will deffintely try this next time on my big block models.

Try craft paper, comes in a 1" thick book (for about $4.00) in all kinds of different colors. Any toy, or craft store sells it. Has a blue that's bang on for Fel-Pro.
