stuck in park

How can I get my 95 Camaro out of park? I step on the brake and I cant push down the button. Antone know whats wrong?

There is a switch behind your brake peddle that alows you to move out of park when you push down on the brake. This might have gone bad. Check your fuses first, if all of them are good you might want to see about replacing that switch. You might want to get under the car and see if the wire conectors to your tranny havn't come loose too.

definatly a fault in the BTSY system (sp) but basicly its a safty thing, there is a switch, and a solenoid that are wired together that wont let you shift out of park unless the brake is depressed, one or more of the components of that system have failed.
