acura integra gsr's and lightweight flywheels

Hi, does anyone out there have an integra gsr (94 and up) with an 8lb flywheel? I would like to know whether or not you would recomend it. I already have a stage one clutch so I'm used to that aspect of it, its just the bogging down everyone talks about that worries me, also the loss of RPM's when you shift. If you know what I'm talking about let me know !:) THanks

I don't have one, but from anyone that I've asked, they all say it is worth it, and that they would do it again. Generally, you will have to relearn your clutch, as it makes it easier to stall, but like you said, you got used to your new clutch, so that is half the battle, you may just have to feather it a bit more than you were used to at a launch.
With that loss of rpms when you shift...you also gain more hp to the wheels, and alot quicker reving, so yes it does change the character of your engine, but like I said, everyone I've talked to says your car pulls noticeably harder and they all love it...especially fidanza, because they have replaceable friction plates, so you only have to replace them, which is significantly cheaper in the long run.

ok i have the unorthodox fly witch i believe is sold as 8lbs but was actualy about 9 the bogging down prob isnt quit what every body makes it out to be and if you can shift quick you wont even notice it and if you do (notice it) the quicker reving should make up for it. unorthodox has the repaceable friction plate (heat shield) as does the fidanza like igovert500 said. now, im generaly happy with my fly wheel BUT the bolts that hold this repaceable friction pate on either snaped cuz of the plate heating up and worping or they snaped and then caused it to worp. point is something on the damn thing broke and i did have to replace the friction plate at a cost of about $100 which was cheaper than a whole new fly but not by much. oh and the worpage f%^&ed my clutch friction plate up as well but it was getting replaced anyway. i have an ACT clutch and would highly HIGHLY recomend an ACT fly wheel they have two fairly new models that vary in weight for road or drag race apps ( i think maybe 8 and 11 pounds) and they are a solid one piece construction with a special high strength steal for the friction area so there shouldnt be any worpage. and when you do decide on a fly change the clutch with it, i also recomend ACT here as well

For a flywheel I would have to recommend a chrome-moly flywheel instead of an Aluminum one. The Chrome-moly is a lot stronger and does not warp nearly as easy as the Aluminum ones. If it was me I would just get a combo deal from a ACT dealer (clutch and flywheel kit) usually they will give you a little discount when you buy both at the same time.
