You guys need a FAQ page

this forums seriously is in need of a FAQ page. i have been searching for the last, lets seeee... 45 minutes trying to find 3 things, and so far no results. First off what are the years of the mkII, mkIII, and the mkIV? Second, i am about to purchase a 87, n/a, MT supra, my thoughts are that the 7m-gte will just bolt right in, will it? 3rd, will the 1jzgte, bolt right in? how about the 2jzgte?, are the chassis's the same, because im new to supra's but not to 240'sx's and their chassis's for the most part are exactly the same. Supra's are obviously in high demand nowadays, so could anyone throw out some websites, (besides those on suprazone.com), Another question would be, What years does the supra share the same tranny, as in if my engine for my mkIII went out, could i use one from a mkII, mkIII turbo, mkIV????, Lots of questions are floating around in my head, im sure ill add on to this list in a few hrs, and im sure if someone started a FAQ that not so many people (like me) would be so lost and confused..
or maybe im just stupid

are all of these engines mentioned above rotary engines?, i was under the impression that the 2jzgte, and 1jz, were combustion? besides the headgasket problem with the mkIII's are there any other regular problems that these cars have?

We do not need an FAQ here, because those questions are not frequently asked. Your questions are being asked because you can't figure out how to use a search engine or the search feature at more than one supra forum (there are four large Supra forums that are very easy to find). Since I'm already typing I'm going to go ahead and answer them.
MKII = 82-86
MKIII= 86.5-92
MKIV = 93-98
Yes a 7m-gte will bolt in, yes a 1jz will bolt in with an 89+ crossmember, yes all 86.5-92 chassis are the exact same (besides targa/hardtop). Supra's are not in high demand, MKIV's are in high demand and have been since they rolled out of the factory. Obviously you would not want to go through all the hassle of putting an MKII engine (5m-ge or 6m-ge) into an MKIII just to have less HP than before. The MKII uses a W55, the n/a MKIII uses a W-58 and the turbo MKIII uses a R-154. All MKIII autos are A340E. No the TT MKIV getrag transmission will not bolt in. There are no Toyota Rotary engines, all Supra engines to date are inline6. There are no other inherent problems with the 7m, but if you do not maintain the engine it will most likely break down, even the mighty 7m can only take so much. If you run it low on oil it will get rod-knock.

Deisel semi trucks are not the only vehicles to use Inline6 engines, tons of cars and small trucks have used them, very strong and very smooth.

every heard of the rb series, that come from the skyline, ohhh yeaaa. very smooth.

on the mk IIIs right? i have a couple questions on another psot but im not gonna add them here but how much do you think a 90-92 turbo should cost??

im getting a 88 turbo for 1100, has one dent, 5 spd. targa top

which kinda bring into my post.. i wanted to know what differences there were between the mkiii like added options or a change in the engine... which years had problems and which ones are considerd the "best" (ie least amount of problems ride quality) i say this mainly because 1st year productions on a car usualy has bugs to work out.... some even change small detail on the car.. i like exactly what the 92 looks like but dont know much more about it... and if im looking for a car exact to that id also want the best heart to stick in it.....

This is not an FAQ thread, I feel that I speak for everyone here when I say we as a forum do not need one. If you can't figure out something as simple and readily available as what the stock HP is, productions years, ect ect, then you probably have a hard time using the internet in the first place. As for your question, virtually all MKIII's are the same, besides the obvious Targa option and the Turbo option. There are some minor differences with all of the following happening in 1989, a new front bumper, some wiring and ECU changes, a small WG revision, minor gauge updates, climate control HU improved, huge speaker grills on the door panels, tail lights and wing changed to 3-peice, smaller front turn signals and grill inserts, slightly lower front suspension, progressive power steering added, new sway bar end links, a few extra braces on both subframes, crappy fluid filled motor mounts, nice stock steering wheel (89 only), and there might have been a few things I left out. Also there have been very very minor head and block castings through the years but it's nothing to think twice about, 88- got the 6M crank which has 8 counter weights and 89+ got the 7m crank with 12. There were also a few changes in 1990, new steering wheel, one or two redesigned interior peices, new five spoke rims. I'll stick with my 88- any day over an 89+.

i dont have a probelm with my internet im just lazy sometimes, i dont care about heavy engine modding(mostly what i find when im looking for info) , and aol sucks balls and blocks me from everything
