newbie needs help.Please!

hey. im new to this forum but yea guys sound like you can hlp me out. my friend has a 1994 buick centry. i gusee it ran fine till it sat for about 4 months until he bought it. the car has about 95000 miles on it. when his uncle went to start is up he said he heard the fuel pump kick on and then it sounded like it burned out. i replaced the fuel pump and it didint kick on. i cheched the wiring to the fuse.the wiring to the relay, and switched out the relay and i still cant get power to pump.
after putting power to the pump i was getting pressure at my fuel rail but i dont think the injectors were firing.(i dont have a noid light or a stethescope) . other than going through my wiring again and checking my injectors im not sure were else to check.
i'm thinking that maybe there is a injector resistor like on hondas that went bad from storage? but im not sure how that would fit into my fuel pump circuit.
if any body has any ideas please let me know!

I ran into a similar problem after replacing the fuel pump on my 93 century. i dont know if you have tried unplugging and then plugging back in a wiring harness in the trunk that resets the fuel system(someone called it an inertia switch)but not really a switch.

If you have fuel at the rail the pump is working. The module will not fire the plugs until you get oil pressure, check the connector on the sending unit. Also check for a stuck IAC valve. Good luck.

thanx guys i was thinking about oil pressure but i wasnt really sure. i dint even think about the wiring harness. i knkow ford has an inertia switch and some one told my gm had a switch too. but i didnt belive that. now that you expalin it it makes sense though. thanx.

no not yet. like i said its my friends car and its kinda of a drive to get there. and since i am currently sporting the leather limosines its kinda hard to get there. and im doing this for a pal so i wont go unless he gos and hed rather just work and chill so.....
