Hi folks...
I am having a strange problem with my 97 4.3 Blazer.
Whenever I step on the brakes, the brake lights PLUS the backup lights come on.
When I put the vehicle in reverse, both brake and backup lights come on.
All fuses are good. I am stumped....it wouldn't bother me, but I got pulled over today and was told to fix it.

did you replace the bulbs at all and accidently switched the bulb sockets around --- I almost did that when i put my Altezza tailights on my 97 Blazer. Check that out - it sounds stupid but it could have happened!

No, nothing like that. I did have a blown fuse for the Stop lights a couple of weeks ago, I replaced it. Seems the problem started around then.

You have other electrical problems -- Check for a bad ground or Broken wires. and I also learned that if the bulbs don't fit or the conections of the bulb are not connecting correctly it will short out. Do you have Trailer wiring?? if so check how that is wired up -- ifit is factory you should not have to worry-- but if it is aftermarket you will have a box somewheree inside the truck in the back The Factory wiring will be running under the truck to the front of the truck.
