ok, when my car is running and idling, with the clutch down, it will absolutely not go in any gear. but when the car is shut off, it will go through all the gears without any problem. this is with a 96 teg LS manual tranny. i really need to know what is going on here. thanks in advance.

with the car running and you push in the clutch and it will not go into gear, that is a clutch prob. when the car is off you should be able to shift into almost any gear. that is when the main shaft is not spinning so the syncro's do not have to work to go into gear. i hate to say but you need a new clutch

yeah i had the same prob before. took it apart and looked like a grenade went off on the clutch disc. get a new clutch should be an easy fix

how would a exedy stage 1 clutch hold up with an ACT streetlite flywheel? this is the setup that fits my pricerange a little better, and want to know how it will do.

since its so easy to check but easy to not think to check. check your hydro fluid levels because i had a friend that thought is clutch went out it wouldnt go into gear and it ended up just being his hydro fluid was bone dry.
