High Engine Temp

I know that Jeep engines are supposed to run hot (195°-210°), but I don't like it. Has anyone put a cooler thermostat in? What (long-term) results?

They run best at those temps. That is what there made to run at. I personally would not mess with it.

You could put in a cooler thermostat, but you could loose some power. Most of your power will be around 200-210 Degrees

Modern engines have electronic controls that are based on the fuel/air mixtures, engine speed and coolant temperature. If you arbitrarily change these parameters poorer performance is usually the result. Engine temperature also affects proper lubrication within the engine. Run too cool and premature wear will occur. Get over the "I don't like it" phrase and realize you are not an automotive engineer, but simply an owner that should probably heed the manufacturers advice.

Factory specs call for a 195 degree thermostat, I would stick with that. The computer takes info from the coolant temp. sensor, and makes adjustments accordingly.
