before i start this i just want to say that i know that this isn't much of a race...and its not really worth posting...but o well..i had fun...


alright...so one of my co-workers has a 2000 Civic non-vtec auto trans w/a relatively quiet "fart can"...my car drowns his out...lol...i think its the base model...but he was talkin all this shyt about how his car would beat mine and everything...(for those of you who don't know i drive a 1989 Nissan Maxima SE[5-speed model], with 192,xxx on the odometer, warpspeed y-pipe, high flow cat, 2 1/4" piping to DTM style exhaust).

He asks me how much my car came out of the factory with, and my reply was "15 years ago it had 160 horsepower, how about yours?"

"111, i think you'll take me"...but he still kept talkin shyt.

so i follow him out onto a road and get next to him at a red light. we are both still rolling at like 2 mph or so when the light goes green. We both jump on it and i instantly put him at my rear door. I shift into second, not hard enough to chirp the tires or anything, and easily put him about 1/2 a car to 2 cars back.

i felt like bein a ass so i hit my hazards, so he falls in behind me and follows me up the on-ramp to get onto the highway, i take second all the way out and shift into third, pullin on him still, and i take it all the way though third as well, approx. 90 mph.

by now he is like 4 or 5 carlengths back easy. I hit the hazards again to be an ass, and let off. he pulls up next to me and holds up a finger, meanin for me to hold on a second.

the road splits ahead, and i'm goin to the right. He gets in the left lane and speeds up and puts his hazards on...haha i love it when people talk shyt and lose anyway...

but soon he's plannin on makin it a vtec and some other goodies...then he'll be givin me a run for my money...if not beatin me...'specially if he puts in the 50 shot he wants...

Good kill. Those non-vtecs. They are something. LOL. You smoked his ass. Well, if I lived close to you, I would love to race your Maxima. Chances are it might die while racing...j/p! Good kill. Why didn't he just purchase a vtec civic? Unless he plans on throwing in a b18 or h22. Either way, he could have spent his money more wisely than that. Late...

lol maxima motors are strong ass motors...and sure i'd be happy to race u if u lived close by...but u dont...so o well...but he just plans on VTEC'n the motor thats in there now...even tho when i asked what he had in there at first he said H22...i was like "well that changes everything". he was like "nah its the factory motor" lol i think he got base model because of insurance...but i dunno, how high is the insurance for a vtec? is it that much higher?? he is about to put a $650 non-street legal exhaust on there...but o well...its his car, his money...lol he's throwin all this money into a car only to be as fast or maybe slightly faster than a 15 year old car...i love it...lmao

But you know what Matt you could drop a VG30DETT engine out of a 300ZX in your car and still smoke him. Then if you wanted to really play just upgrade it to stage 3 and you'd have a 450HP Maxima. Hmmmmm

There's supposedly one here in the U.C. (Utah County). It's yellow, has the Type R decals. But I don't know if it's a true Type R. Either way, they are sexy. But that is all besides the point of this guys story. Late...

Theres a kid who went to my high school and his dad bought him an Integra Type R as soon as he got his G2 (semi-permanent liscence)....a few months later he wrapped it around a pole and his dad bought him an Rsx Type S......the kid took to crashing his Type R like it was nothing, while the rest of us were horified he would ruin a car like that

anyways a type R is a awesome honda. i love it. and there are a few ways to tell the difference between a real type R to a yellow painted teg.

1) no side molding
2) 5 lug bolt pattern
3) the front lip kit, and wing
4) red stitched interior
5) orange interior lighting instead of green
6) 8.5 K redline
7) carbon fiber grain interior vents

these are the obvious differences from a true type R to a yellow painted teg. but the first things to look for is a 5 lug and no side moldings. most guys don't bother to change those.

i've seen an integra with type r badges around tucson, it was yellow too. i'm starting to see a pattern....

i have personally seen a few very deceptive ITR conversions and they still got the stock ls motor
these people give the ITR a bad name
