Getting a chrome muffler

I'm pretty new at this car modding stuff and I was just wondering if I could just purchase a performance muffler for like 100 bucks and still be able to install it on my max? I know the Stillen one is like 600 and I don't really have that kind of cash. A friend of mine told me Mineke does it for 200 (when you buy a muff and they put it on). Anyone know?? Thanks.

Mieneke (is that how you spell it?) installed a catback system on my wife's Mustang for $100.00 a long time ago, so for just the muffler your probably looking at only $20.00 to $40.00. In theory you can do it yourself with a hack saw and clamp, but to do it correctly, it has to be welded.

Now, in my humble opinion your wasting your money because the cheap muffler you want is going to give you that bumble bee sound and a headache but nothing else. Save your $$$ and spend it on handling or an intake or a complete exhaust system. All these hyped up mods are nothing but a scam to get your money.

If you want the look of a big bore muffler there are some nice looking tips available at the fraction of the cost which you can easily install yourself.

Well see like, I want to get a good muffler (50-100 bucks worth) that gives me a deep sound to it. I would get a tip, but I have dual-exhaust right now, so that's not possible.
