I have a 2000 firebird with a 3.8 liter v-6. i have added a flowmaster exhaust aand have installed a Jet stage 2 chip. i am looking for more parts available to help with performance. I see alot of parts for the 5.7 liter, but not many for the 3.8. I would be greatful for any web sites or catalog names that are out there.

If you want v6 performance invest in a turbo. The 3.8 is capable of great things with boost. In fact I picked up a magazine called High Performance Pontiac the other day February 2005 issue. Page 41 has a turbo 3.8 running 12.23 @ 111.37mph. Now the unfortunate thing is he has 23 psi worth of boost to make those numbers using a Precision Industries turbo. The up side is he claims to have burned a z06 vette. This car is a 89 turbo T/A that is almost completely stock it still has the original exhaust manifolds with 3.27 gears, but does include a 3,200 stall.
Unfortunately running that much boost isn't exactly daily driver material.
Most turbo 3.8's run about 300hp and can be driven daily without excessive engine strain.

I GOT THE CHIP THROUGH PERFORMANCEPRODUCTS.COM I DON'T KNOW ALL THE YEARS AVAILABLE, BUT THE NICE THING IS THE SITE ALLOWS YOU TO DESCRIBE YOUR CAR AND IT SEARCHES THE SITE FOR AVAIKABLE PARTS. THE COST WAS AROUND $300.00 AND THE INSTALL TOOK ABOUT 20 MINUTES. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL ONCE INSTALLED. THE BIG CHANGE IS IN THE SHIFTING WITH MY AUTO TRANNY. NO NOTICEABLE CHANGE IN NORMAL DRIVING, BUT IF YOU MAT IT, IT WILL TAKE YOU TO ABOUT 200 RPM BELOW RED LINE BEFORE SHIFTING AND THEN ONLY DROPS OFF TO ABOUT 3200 RPM ON THE SHIFT SO THE POWER IS APPLIED SMOOTHLY. I HAVE NOTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS CHIP.
