Fan settings not working

Hi, all,
My problem with my 2001 Grand Am GT is that the first two
settings on my interior fan (1 and 2) won't work at all.
If I want heat/air, I have to put the fan on 3, which is too much after
a few minutes. Does anyone know what the cause is?
I suspected a fuse, but I'm pretty sure that the fan wouldn't
work at any setting, if that were the case.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Its something called the blower resistor, a very common thing to go in a grand am. Its located under the dash near the middle most likely. a really cheap fix as well.
